Fats are proving to be a superior form of fuel for the body, including the central nervous system. In fact, a fat-based diet has been shown to help reverse cognitive decline and epilepsy as well as help those who have poor blood sugar control or are weight-loss resistant. Whether or not you follow a fat-based diet, fats are also key in balancing hormones and providing sustained fuel for exercise.
