Many of you may notice Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) beginning to bloom as you stroll down the bike path or venture into your backyard. Also regarded as a common weed, this delightful little plant is part of the mint family, though a small nibble on its leaves will leave a bitter taste in your mouth! It's common and latin names denote its traditional uses ~ as a female remedy with an affinity to the heart. However, it can also be used for nervous restlessness & tension, anxiety, as a diaphoretic in fevers, and for feeble digestion to name a few!
