Candied Nuts


  • 1 lb nuts
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • pinch of sea salt
  • pinch of cinnamon


  • Place nuts on large shallow pan and toast in oven at 300F for 10 minutes. Cool.
  • Beat egg whites with salt until peak forms. Gradually add honey and continue beating until honey and egg whites mix. Fold in nuts and cinnamon.
  • Coat the large shallow pan with melted butter. Spread nut and egg mixture over pan. Bake in oven for 30 minutes turning nuts every ten minutes. Cool. Adapted from Breaking the Vicious Cycle, by Elaine Gottschall
