Savory Millet


  • 1 cup millet
  • 3 cups filtered water
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 Tbls. garlic powder
  • 1 Tbls. Italian seasonings
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Freshly minced or dried herbs such as basil, parsley, and/or tarragon


  • Rinse millet thoroughly in a fine sieve. Bring 3 cups of water to a boil, then add millet and bring to a boil again. Cover, reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes.
  • Combine remaining ingredients with grain while stirring on the stove. Just before serving, stir in fresh minced herbs.
