Vanilla-Poached Pears

Vanilla's aroma is soothing and warming to balance a damp and chilly day.


  • 2 large Pears, peeled, halved and cored
  • 2 cups Apple Juice
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Vanilla Bean, sliced vertically


  • In a frying pan, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to a gentle simmer, cover loosely, and poach until tender (about 20 minutes).
  • Let the pear halves relax in the juice for about 10 minutes before serving warm.
