COOKING CLEAN 102

Learn basic preparation and ask questions about preparing a wide variety of whole grains and legumes. Join Angela Trentadue, Chef of Stagioni, LLC and Katy Wallace, ND, of Human Nature, LLC continue this introductory series on cooking clean in the kitchen and discussing methods to maximize nutrient absorption, good digestion, and flavor. Participants will be given copies of the recipes designed for proper food combining.

COOKING CLEAN 101

Prepare your kitchen to cook a plant-based meal efficiently in our Community Room with Chef Angela Trentadue, Stagioni, LLC and Katy Wallace, ND, Human Nature, LLC in this introductory series on preparing healthful, everyday meals in your kitchen. You will learn safe knife skills and basic ways to prepare simple meals using fruit, vegetables, oils, and herbs aimed at enhancing their healthful benefits and your enjoyment with each meal. Participants will be given copies of the recipes designed for proper food combining.

SUSHI AND SEAWEED COOKING CLASS

Learn the basic steps for making sushi and seaweed. Inspired by a trip to Okinawa, Japan, home to the longest lived people in the world, Katy Wallace, ND, of Human Nature, LLC, will demonstrate simple sushi making for beginners, seaweed salads, simple tips to incorporate seaweed into meals, and basic aspects of the traditional Okinawan diet with a slide show of this beautiful island.

HOLISTIC APPROACH TO FATS AND CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH

Our program will cover the basic facts about fats and their link with heart health. We will address the effects of each fat (unrefined, expreller-pressed, and refined) and the roles of each fat in the body including those that cause inflammation and those that heal. For example, did you know that expeller-pressed oils like canola, sunflower, and safflower oils typically include high heat and chemicals in their processing? And that butter is considered healthy for the heart? Katy Wallace, traditional Naturopath and yoga instructor of Human Nature, LLC will provide clear shopping tips on how to select fats to protect your heart.

NOURISHING THE FEMALE BODY

In a fast-paced lifestyle, we often do not take the time to nourish our bodies in order to develop strong glands and hormonal balance. This program will discuss foods your may incorporate into your lifestyle to support your feminine body and diminish the discomfort that can occur with menstrual, perimenopausal, and sexual experiences. Additional topics will include infertility, birth control, and food cravings.

FOODS FOR MENTAL/EMOTIONAL HEALTH

Join a discussion of the food-based ways to address mental imbalances ranging from moodiness to learning disabilities, depression, and other mental disorders. Katy Wallace, ND RYT, of Human Nature, LLC will discuss Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride's book, "Gut and Psychology Syndrome" and offer information regarding how proper food combining and specific sugar- and gluten- free food programs can address imbalances in the digestive tract that relate to brain function.

Learn how foods can improve your mood. Katy Wallace, ND, will discuss key nutrients linked to emotional wellness and which food groups are most important for addressing issues such as anxiety and depression.

STRESS RELIEF AND BOOSTING ENERGY NATURALLY

Are you tired & stressed out? Do you need caffeine or salty/sweet snacks to keep going? Learn how to sustain your energy with breathing exercises, herbs, food, and minerals. Katy Wallace, Naturopath and yoga instructor of Human Nature, LLC will discuss healthy ways to overcome fatigue and crankiness.

DIGESTIVE HEALTH
