Bile is needed for the efficient uptake of oily nutrients. Produced by the liver and stored in the gall bladder, bile is released when fat enters the small intestine where it acts as an emulsifying agent. Bile insufficiency has been associated with constipation, light-colored or clay-colored stools, greasy or floating stools, and generalized intolerance of fatty foods. Beta Plus™ from Biotics Research provides effective digestive support and is especially important for those having had their gall bladder removed. New research suggests that bile acids enhance the digestion and assimilation of dietary proteins as well, by accelerating hydrolysis by pancreatic proteases. Many of the proteins studied, including whey, casein and egg albumen, showed much more rapid hydrolysis by proteases in the presence of conjugated bile acids.

Each tablet of Beta Plus™ supplies 100 mg of Ox bile extract combined with pancrealipase, organic whole beet concentrate (a natural source of betaine), superoxide dismutase and catalase, two very important antioxidant enzymes. Beta Plus™ is available in bottles of 90 and 180 tablets.
