Biotics Research's Bio-MCT is a medium chain triglyceride product, containing 100% Caprylic Triglycerides from coconut/palm kernal oil.

MCTs bypass the digestion process that longer chain fats go through, and consequently are rapidly absorbed, thereby supply a quick source of energy. Additionally, because MCFAs can enter mitochondria without carrier protein, their β-oxidation can easily proceed, another factor that makes them good energy sources. Also, as a consequence of their short chain length, MCT oil has also been noted to have a thermogenic effect, resulting in a significant increase in the number of calories burned. It has likewise been suggested that MCT may be beneficial in supporting mitochondrial dysfunction and impaired energy production due to its ability to raise ketone levels. MCTs have been shown to offer appetite suppression, thus may be associated with lower caloric intake. In one study it was observed that MCT substitution for other fats in a high-fat diet limited excess energy intake and weight gain produced by high-fat, energy-dense diets.
