Biotics Research's HCl Ease was developed in conjunction with Dr. Gary Lasneski and provides highly effective, targeted nutritional support for gastroesophageal health.
HCl-Ease contains a proprietary blend of herbs, plants, botanicals, and enzymes. Each bottle contains 120 capsules and the recommendation is two capsules twice per day or as otherwise directed by a healthcare professional.
The lower esophageal sphincter (LES) is a ring of muscle at the entrance to the stomach. If functioning normally, it closes as soon as food passes through it. However, with improper closure, acid produced by the stomach may move up into the esophagus. This may cause symptoms such as heartburn, discomfort of the esophagus discomfort, and even tissue damage. HCl-Ease® is a patented, effective product, specifically designed to support esophageal health. Specific herbs have demonstrated the ability to provide beneficial characteristics to perform this function. For example, Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) is an herb of the Rosaceae family. Its extract supplies tannins and salicin, a plant salicylate, and provides other important constituents including flavonoids, phenol glycosides and essential oil. It is recognized as possessing stomachic, astringent and antacid properties. Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) is provided as a source of pectin and mucilage, and for its antioxidant activity. Okra has also demonstrated its ability to block adhesion by H. pylori to gastric epithelial cells, and functions as a protective agent against gastric irritation via its support of mucous membranes. Eyebright (Euphrasia officinalis) extract contains a naturally high content of iridoid glycosides, including aucubin, which is known to possess hepatoprotective properties and antimicrobial activity, and has been shown to inhibit NF-kappaB activation in mast cells as well. Eyebright has historically been used orally for hoarseness and throat irritation, as it is supportive of mucous membrane integrity. Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis) has been documented to support pharyngeal mucosa health. The extract supplies polysaccharides which have been shown to provide significant antitussive activity. Asian Plantain (Plantago asiatica) extract supplies mucilage, iridoid glycosides (including aucubin and catapol), and tannin. Oral use has been documented to support oral and pharyngeal mucosa health. Pepsin is also provided as digestive support. Pepsin functions as a proteolytic enzyme, participating in the degradation of proteins for absorption or further degradation in the small intestine by pancreatic enzymes. HCl-Ease® is not recommended for those with salicylate intolerance and should not be taken by pregnant or lactating women. The patented combination of herbal constituents and pepsin supplied by HCl-Ease® are supportive of protein digestion while simultaneously protecting against esophageal irritation.
