Biotics Research's KappArest is a proprietary formula designed to downregulate inflammatory pathways, primarily through the inhibition of NF-kappaB, a molecule inside each cell.

Pain is one of the many things we humans share. And though pain may be subjective (we cannot judge each others level of it), inflammation is not. Inflammation is our body’s response to injury, real or perceived. The inflammatory cascade is triggered by environmental stimuli such as injury, food or environmental allergens, viral infections, exposure to toxins and emotional stress, or poor diet. This leads to the activation of something called NF-KappaB, a protein complex that acts as an intracellular “amplifier” to promote the production of direct mediators of inflammation. These include such compounds as cytokines, prostaglandins, leukotrienes, nitric oxide and free radicals. If NF-KappaB is left unchecked, it can lead to pain, inflammation and even insulin resistance, and cardiovascular and autoimmune disorders. Unfortunately, inflammation has become prevalent in our society, largely sue to the pro-inflammatory nature of the Standard American Diet (SAD) and the nutritional deficits resulting from it, our high stress lifestyles, and constant environmental insults.
